212.217.4700 or email@example.comIn celebration of the 15th anniversary of the Fashion Institute of Technology’s (FIT) Home Products Development program, a reception titled 15 Years of Home will be held on March 14 from 6-8 pm at BLU at Hotel Indigo, 127 W. 28th Street. The honoree for this special anniversary year is Barry Leonard, CEO and president, Welspun, USA, Inc. Leonard will receive the Distinguished Leadership Award, to be presented by Peter G. Scotese, chairman emeritus of FIT’s Board of Trustees.
Although this year’s evening reception replaces the traditional annual breakfast, the event’s goal remains the same—to honor industry leaders and raise funds to support student learning experiences and for the Home Fashion Products Association (HFPA). 15 Years of Home is co-sponsored by the home products company Revman International, Inc., and Barry Leonard. The event is co-hosted by FIT and HFPA.

FIT’s program in Home Products Development—the only one of its kind in the world—offers studies in both hard furnishings and accessories and soft textile line classifications. The program was developed with the assistance of members of the home furnishings industry and FIT alumni. Courses include product development, product knowledge, and marketing specific to the home products industry.
