Fashion Icons and Insiders Symposium 2011
|
The Museum at FIT’s eleventh fashion symposium, Fashion Icons and Insiders, opens with Valerie Steele in conversation with today’s most inspiring fashion icon, Daphne Guinness. It closes with the consummate fashion insider, Glenda Bailey, editor-in-chief of Harper’s Bazaar. In between, there are conversations with fashion designers, bloggers, and journalists, who will provide insight into the inner workings of the fashion system. There will also be lectures by well-known authors and curators, speaking on topics such as gay fashion icons, black fashion icons, and celebrity fashion icons, as well as historic fashion icons and insiders such as Marie Antoinette, Jean Paul Gaultier and Millicent Rogers.
The symposium is open to the public at a cost of $100 for two days. It is FREE to all students everywhere thanks to support from Barneys New York. Additional support was provided by the FIT Student-Faculty Corporation. Speaker Biographies | Photos from the Symposium |
