President Joyce F. Brown made a historic trip to Tokyo, from Monday, March 19 to Thursday, March 22, to demonstrate the college’s support for Japan’s fashion industry and its 500 Japanese alumni during Japan Fashion Week. Accompanying Dr. Brown was Dr. Valerie Steele, director and chief curator of The Museum at FIT and curator of the ground-breaking exhibition, Japan Fashion Now.
Highlights of our trip included:
- Participation in a special symposium, Human Power Development and Japan Fashion in the Age of Globalization. Japanese alumni living in New York are invited to view the seminar in a live simulcast at the SUNY Global Center on 55th Street on Tuesday, March 20. Learn more and RSVP.
