2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Katie Murphy Amphitheatre, Pomerantz Art and Design Center

Ximena Mieles, FIT faculty in the department of Foreign Languages and one of the main actors, will introduce this film.  “Prometeo” begins in an airport in the developed world, with the arrival of an aircraft.  Passengers from the European Union pass immigration, but for some unexplained reason a group of Ecuadorians is detained.  As the Ecuadorians wait to be deported, they learn that each one of them is carrying a secret.  Among the detainees is Prometeo, a young man who appears in the waiting room with his hands tied behind his back and a magic trunk besides him.  The room starts filling up with passengers.  With no exit left for them, illusion remains the only way out.

Ximena Mieles is an Ecuadorian actress who has worked in theater and film projects in the United States and Ecuador.  She has recently starred in the short movie, “La Cabeza Bajo el Agua.”
