Dean Tardis Johnson
 
Tardis Johnson is the assistant dean of Academic Advisement. He has over ten years of experience in the field of student services on SUNY campuses. Prior to joining the FIT community, Dean Johnson was dean of academic support services/associate dean of students at SUNY Maritime College, where he worked extensively with first-year students, helping to enhance the curriculum and advisement process, raise retention rates, and recruit and train academic and personal advisors. He earned a BA in mathematics from the University at Albany – SUNY and an MS in higher education from Baruch College, and he is currently working on his dissertation for a doctor of education degree from Northeastern University. In his spare time, he enjoys studying history. 
  Regan Christie
Regan Christie is a counselor who comes to FIT from Hunter College, where she provided academic advisement to pre-health and liberal arts students for more than seven years. Regan holds a BS in secondary education from the University of Vermont and an MA in higher education and student personnel administration from New York University. She moved to New York City from Vermont eleven years ago and enjoys taking her dogs to the park.
  Mike Heidenberg
Mike Heidenberg is a counselor associate who previously worked for eleven years at Fordham University as a graduate assistant advisor to student athletes, a professor of English, and a writing center tutor. Mike has a BA in anthropology and archaeology from The New School and an MA and MPhil in English literature from Fordham. At Fordham, he specialized in working with at-risk students and students with communication issues. An accomplished musician, Mike has recorded an album and performed at venues in and around Manhattan.
  Marcia Lezama
Marcia Lezama is a counselor associate who worked for ten years in FIT’s Financial Aid Office, where she specialized in analyzing student data, processing loans, and determining eligibility for grants. She earned a BS in legal studies from John Jay College of Criminal Justice. Marcia is a proud Brooklynite who loves shopping and spending time with her family. She is very active in supporting a number of causes in her community.
  Beth Lish
Beth Lish is a counselor associate who comes to FIT from New York University, where she worked for three years as a financial aid counselor. Her previous experience in higher education includes providing graduation advisement at the University of Southern California, assisting students in the Registrar’s Office at the Art Institute of Boston, and teaching English at a technical college in China. Beth earned a BA in English from Barnard College. She enjoys making jewelry, taking long walks, and traveling.
  Nicky Mar
Nicky Mar is a counselor associate who has a long history at FIT. An FIT graduate, he earned his AAS and BS degrees in Production Management. Nicky began his higher education career in the Admissions Office at FIT more than a decade ago. He is excited about continuing to encourage the academic growth of the many talented students at FIT. A native New Yorker currently living in Brooklyn, he enjoys international cuisine, getting lost in museums, and traveling.
  Phillip Menzies
Phillip Menzies is a counselor associate who served for seven years as an advisor and tutor coordinator in the Higher Education Opportunity Program (HEOP) at Fordham’s Lincoln Center campus. He earned a BA in sociology from Fordham University. He is committed to academic achievement and student advocacy, and he has been attracted to the creativity and uniqueness of FIT since he first toured the college in 2011. Phill enjoys sports, listening to music, and practicing martial arts.
 Professor Madeleine Meyerson
Madeleine Meyerson is a counselor associate who previously served as the coordinator for FIT’s Liberal Arts Center for Academic Advisement and Placement, which she developed and ran from 2006 to 2013. She also was a counselor for and is an adjunct assistant professor in the Educational Skills Department, where she has taught since 1987.  Madeleine holds a BA in English and secondary education from the University of Georgia and an MA in TESOL from Hunter College.  She thoroughly enjoys working with students and looks forward to continuing her satisfying career here at FIT.  She loves good conversation, family, friends, and especially beautiful music.
  Benita Pratt
Benita Pratt is a counselor with over ten years of experience in higher education in admissions, career services, and student activities. She received a BA in American studies and media and communications from SUNY Old Westbury and an MPA from Metropolitan College of New York. As the Military and Veteran Coordinator at Monroe College, she developed policies and procedures that helped student veterans navigate through college from admissions to graduation. She enjoys spending time with her family and is active in her community through her membership in Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority.
  Penny Tomasello
Penny Tomasello is the executive coordinator. She has over twelve years of experience in student affairs at FIT. Penny received an AAS in business administration from Elizabeth Seton College, a BA in business administration from Bernard Baruch College, and an MS in human resources relations from the New School. She loves spending time with her family, traveling, solving puzzles, and gardening.
  Devon Vidal
Devon Vidal is a counselor associate who previously served as the coordinator of international student services at SUNY Maritime College, where she worked closely with the international student population and served as a first-year student advisor. Devon holds a BA in sociology, an MS and certificate of advanced studies in educational administration and policy studies with a concentration in higher education from the University at Albany – SUNY, and a certificate in immigration law studies from CUNY School of Professional Studies. In her free time, Devon stays active by kickboxing.
