Tonie Leatherberry, Principal, Deloitte Consulting LLP, is Keynote Speaker

Free and Open to the Public

A symposium exploring Diversity and Globalization in the Beauty Industry from multiple perspectives, including those of scholars and corporate leaders, will take place on Friday, November 16, 8:30 am – noon, in the Katie Murphy Amphitheater at FIT.

Topics will focus on the ways in which best practices in diversity–whether in global sourcing, product development, micro-financing, or human resource management–can create a richer environment for innovation in organizations and a broader dialogue with consumers.

The keynote speaker is Antoinette (Tonie) Leatherberry, principal, Deloitte Consulting LLP, Northeast practice leader for Information Management and Business Analytics, and former chairperson of Deloitte’s Diversity and Inclusion Committee.

Panel discussion moderator is Ellen Byron, consumer products reporter, The Wall Street Journal. Panelists include Nicholas Gavrelis, vice president, Global Product Development, MAC Cosmetics, The Estée Lauder Companies; and Cheryl Wilson, director, Global Business Development-Multicultural Hair, Unilever.

Mark Davis, director, Community Fair Trade, The Body Shop, will be interviewed by FIT students.

This event is sponsored by the School of Graduate Studies at the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT), with support from an FIT Diversity Council Grant.
