FIT Women Place 2nd, Men 3rd at Delhi Meet

NEW YORK, NY - The FIT Tigers brought four women and two men to face the Broncos of Delhi and the Suffolk Sharks this weekend.  The women finished one point out of first place with 174 points, while the men secured 78 points for third.

For the women, the quartet of Lauren Lyons, Ivana Ng, Emily Lehr, and Jacki Kicksee opened and closed the meet with wins in the 400 Medley (4:51.74) and 800 Free Relays (9:54.23).  Kicksee and Lehr added two more wins a piece with Kicksee breaking the school record in the 400 IM (5:19.08) and pacing a 2:28.58 in the 200 back.  Lehr struck gold with wins in 100 free (1:00.09) and a gutsy performance in the 200 fly (2:42.11).  Ng joined Lehr in the 100 free, finishing fifth in 1:14.68 and later taking fourth in 3:15.01 in the 200 breast, while Lyons raced both sprint and distance with a 29.81 in the 50 and a 6:34.00 in the 500.

Holten Wyatt and Sean Maldjian started the meet off for the men with side-by-side swims in the 200 free.  Holten finished in second with a 2:00.92, with Maldjian just behind in 2:01.23 for third.  They raced again in the 100 free, this time with Maldjian winning in 52.08 and Wyatt taking fourth in 56.47.  Maldjian rounded out his races with a well-swum 500, finishing second in 5:40.71, while Wyatt placed second in the 200 back in 2:21.14.

Competition for the Tigers resumes in two weeks in Rochester at the Region III Championships hosted by Monroe Community College.
