In Fall 2012, the FIT Diversity Council commissioned a nationally recognized research company—Rankin & Associates—to conduct a campus climate survey of FIT’s campus. The information derived from this survey will help the college understand where we are today, how we are perceived—and what steps we must take to create a community that fosters diversity and inclusion.
The results of the Diversity Climate Survey, Campus Climate Project Final Report, are now available. More than 16% of the FIT community completed the survey and their responses, which are reflected in this report, present a portrait of diversity on campus. The executive summary and the full report are available online at http://myfit.fitnyc.edu/ (click on the Office of the President tab).
The Campus Climate Project Final Report is intended to serve as a resource for broader campus dialogue. In Fall 2013, the Diversity Council will resume discussions in various forums. Our hope is to get everyone engaged and to use the outcomes of our discussion to help shape strategies that will enable us to reach our goals.
