Tiger Cross Country Take Second in QCC Invitational

(Bronx, NY) The FIT women’s cross country team kicked off the 2013 season with an impressive team finish at the Queensborough Community College Invitational on Sunday, September 15th at Van Cortlandt Park in the Bronx. The “Running Tigers” finished 2nd out of the 12 team field by scoring 90 points.
Lindsay Schroth, FR, was the first runner across the finish line for the Tigers with a time of 22:55 over the hilly and challenging 5k course at Van Cortlandt Park. FIT’s number two runner was Shannen Gallardo, FR, with a time of 23:17. Rounding out the top five were Kelsey Waters, FR, with a time of 24:20, Mikalia Macner, FR, with a time of 24:35 and Shannon McIver, FR, with a time of 24:40.
Other participants in the meet were Faith Marino (26:27), Julia Werth (28:10), Jennifer Roman (28:31), Marie Lutes (31:48), Meghan Gaska (34:02) and Jennifer Benitez (46:23).
