Tigers defense stands strong

By Briana Marquit

(Kingsborough, NY) This weekend the FIT tigers took on Nassau Community College for the second time. The tigers triumphed Sunday with a 1-0 win after losing to NCC the first go around. The game was very back and forth, both teams putting on a very strong defense.  Finally in the middle of the second have the 0-0 game was broken by an own goal off of Erika Renstrom’s corner kick. Katelyn Snow recorded her first shut out of the season by making fantastic saves throughout the game finishing with a total of 16 saves.

“This game showed the character of this year’s team.  They played their best soccer of the season today really rekindled a spark that has been missing these past few games. I am excited to see what the next level is for them,” commented Coach Bevivino

The girls face off against Suffolk Community college this weekend hoping to avenge another loss they suffered earlier in the season.
