Students can be excused from the mandatory insurance if they have equal or better health coverage from another company. In order to waive the mandatory insurance, students must submit an online waiver form by the waiver deadline date.
Instructions to waive the student health insurance:
- Go to www.gallagherstudent.com/FIT.
- Click STUDENT WAIVE.
- Log in to access your account. Follow the instructions on how to log in.
- Once you access your account, select the red I WANT TO WAIVE button.
Immediately upon submitting the waiver form, you will receive a confirmation number. You will subsequently receive an email confirmation at the email address you provided. Retain this confirmation number for your records, as it is your only documentation that your form was successfully submitted.

For coverage, present your ID card at the pharmacy when dropping off your prescription. If you haven't received your ID card, you may pay for the prescription, then complete the Medco Reimbursement Form for reimbursement.

Need insurance after graduation?
You may be eligible to enroll for one additional period of coverage through Gallagher Koster. You have to be enrolled in the student health insurance plan for at least 6 consecutive months to be eligible to continue your coverage after it terminates. Enrollment must be made at least 15 days prior to termination. The Continuation Plan does not duplicate the coverage of your Student Health Insurance Plan and the premium is not the same.
