BEFORE YOU REGISTER

Check your registration date and time
This date and start time is based on the number of credits you have completed. Students with the most credits are assigned to the first registration dates through a computer process. Go to MyFIT and in the Registration section, select "Check your registration status" to view your assigned registration date and start time.
Check for holds in MyFIT
In the Registration section, select “Check Your Registration Status”. Clear any holds placed on your records with the department that initiated the hold before your registration date. Academic advisement holds will prevent registration. If you have an Academic Advisement hold, you must go to the Academic Advisement Center, Feldman Center, room C-402 before the hold will be removed and you can register.
Advisement
Attend an individual or group advisement session as scheduled by your major department or the Academic Advisement Center. If you have an Academic Advisement hold, you must go to the Academic Advisement Center, Feldman Center, room C-402 before the hold will be removed and you can register.
Check your degree audit (DARS)
See our website for details about accessing and understanding your degree audit. Come to Feldman Center, room 158 for walk- in graduation advisement if you have further questions. Graduation advisement is available Monday- Friday 12-2 pm and Thursday evenings 5 - 6 pm.
You must register for at least 12 credits that fulfill requirements for your current degree program according to the federal and state guidelines. Contact Financial Aid or Registrar (for TAP) if you have any questions about these guidelines.
Search the Class Schedules
You can search for the most up-to-date course offerings through the online information system. In the Registration section of MyFIT, select Class Search.
For special permission, go to the department offering the course
If approved, the department will either give you an Online Override or a signed paper form, Add/Drop and Special Approval form, that must be submitted in-person in the Registration Center. Please note that a program change fee will be charged for in-person processing. No fee will be charged if you are given an Online Override.
WEB REGISTRATION
You can register and change your schedule online through MyFIT as many times as you wish and no add/drop fees will be charged. Self-service terminals are available in Business & Liberal Arts Center, Room 103

If you have not already done so, you must complete a short survey required by the State University of New York (SUNY).
Check your degree audit (DARS) again to make you registered for required courses.
As soon as you register for courses or are registered by FIT for your block courses, you are liable for the tuition unless you drop courses before the first day of classes. Refunds are only issued if you withdraw in writing and submit tothe Registrar's Office before the refund dates. Refunds are calculated by the date the withdrawal request is received by the college in writing.
