Green Jobs Now

Green Jobs Now is a day of action on September 27th to show Congress, the next President, and the Nation we want an inclusive green economy, strong enough to lift people out of poverty and solve the climate crisis.

On Saturday, September 27, Green Jobs Now is launching a national mobilization to say, "I'm ready for the green economy.   " We are ready to tackle the climate crisis by building a green economy strong enough to lift people out of poverty.
Green Jobs Now is a National Day of Action that will empower everyday people to stage hundreds of grassroots events throughout the country. We will have a special focus on low-income communities, communities of color and indigenous people. This will send a message to our leaders that, when it comes to creating green jobs for a more sustainable economy, PEOPLE ARE READY!

MONSTER GOES GREEN

Monster now has a green guide for careers. Go to www.monstertrak.monster.com/greencareers to search for jobs designated as green. According to Monster:
A Green Job is a job in any company where a primary function of the job being listed is to: 

  • proactively manufacture, sell, implement, support, or promote products, services or public policies that reduce humans’ impact on the environment by reducing demands on natural resources or by preventing pollution

GREEN BUILDING CERTIFICATION INSTITUTE

The Green Building Certification Institute (GBCI) (www.gbci.org) is a new addition to the green building community. GBCI has the enthusiastic backing of the U.S. Green Building Council. GBCI shares USGBC’s mission of transforming the building industry and the vision of a sustainable built environment. GBCI will ensure the LEED Accredited Professional credential will continue to carry the same value and represent the same level of professional expertise it always has.
