The FIT Women’s Cross Country Team finished 2nd in the Region XV Championship held on October 23.
The Women's Half Marathon team is named the #1 Academic All-American Team of the Year in the nation by the NJCAA with a team GPA of 3.52
At the Cross Country Regional Tournament at Sunken Meadow, Long Island, FIT Women’s Team tied for 1st place. The Team was named Region XV Co-Champions with Suffolk CC.
The Cross Country Team competed in its first meet and FIT freshman Ryan Legassi placed 2nd.
Kara Lewis (3.91 GPA) was awarded the SUNY Chancellor’s Student Athlete Award.

The FIT Cross Country Team competed in its first meet Sunday, September 21, 2008. The FIT Women’s Team attained 1st place.
Half marathoner Jennifer Wolff (3.66 GPA) was nominated for 2007 Chancellor’s Scholar-Athlete Award. Wolff transferred to FIT from Fulton Montgomery Community College. She placed 19th out of 50 with a time of 1:38:00 setting a new FIT women’s record for the half marathon.
Sophomore Jennifer Wolffe finished 2nd at the Cross Country Regional Tournament and was named to 1st Team All-Region.
On April 3, freshman Fashion Design major Ashanty Arzu took 1st place in the 200M Dash at the St. John’s Open Outdoor Track.
FIT NJCAA Academic All-Region Award Winners (Fall 2005-2006): Sara Camarda, 3.54 GPA; Ashley Filiczkoski, 3.78 GPA; Adriana Guido, 3.89 GPA; Stephanie Spangler, 3.63 GPA.
On November 19, the FIT Women’s Cross Country Team competed in the NJCAA Women’s Half Marathon Classic in Spartanburg, South Carolina. The FIT Team finished 9th in the nation.
