Real Internship Experience: Issey Miyake USA
When FMM major Nissa Levy started her internship in the retail operations department at Issey Miyake U.S.A. Corp, she had selling experience, but had never been involved in actually getting merchandise into a store.
"I worked on several projects that gave me insight into the company and the way the industry really functions. My FIT education prepared me to contribute to the organization from my first day there, so my supervisor was able to give me real responsibilities." -- Nissa Levy, AAS Fashion Merchandising Management, '07
"FIT interns adapt well to their surroundings and have the willingness to work and learn through experience. They also come ready to start working with our collections. Nissa had the qualities we look for: punctuality, respect, eagerness, and enthusiasm. She was committed, adaptable, completion oriented, and she asked the right questions." -- Kamal Agrawal, Manager, Retail Operations, Issey Miyake U.S.A. Corp
