A Guide to Technology at FIT

IT is dedicated to the support of teaching, learning, research, and outreach at FIT.  Using established and emerging technologies, IT designs, builds, maintains, and continually evaluates our technology infrastructure to enable a world-class education.

For students, IT maintains more than 46 computer and specialty labs, with more than 1,200 computers available for student use.  Both Apple Macintosh and Windows PCs are available, running the latest versions of Adobe Creative Suite software, Microsoft Office, Gerber Software, JDA, Final Cut Pro, and other applications.

Support Structure

IT TechHelp is dedicated to student, faculty, and staff support. The customer service department is located in rooms C305b and C307a. Faculty and staff support line x78324 (or 7TECH), walk-ins available in room C305b. Student helpline is x74357(or 7HELP), walk-ins available in room c307a.
IT TechHelp is your gateway to all technical needs. Services provided include but not limited to: network troubleshooting (wired and wireless), telecommunication, cable television, email, printing, training, computer repair and replacement, and business application support.

IT Media Services handles all audio and visual reservations for classrooms and campus events. The group also provides technical support for podiums and smart classrooms. Walk-ins available in room C305g, support line is x73480.

Academic Computing Center is dedicated to student and faculty support in instructional classrooms. The group provides state of the art equipment and software to support curriculum. There are over 46 computing labs on campus. The department office is located in room C220 and reachable at x73520.

Technology Development Team is a collaborative effort that strategically combines the talents of faculty, IT, the Center for Excellence in Teaching, and External Relations to serve the training needs and pedagogic goals of the FIT community. TDT provides software training for existing and new technologies, consultation on new projects and initiatives, and assistance in audio and video production.
