Peer writing tutors are undergraduate and graduate students who are strong students and who are interested in working collaboratively with other students. Peer tutors provide writing support to other students through a collaborative learning model. Peer tutors represent the FIT Writing Studio in tutorial sessions, outreach visits, and in both online and face-to-face interactions with other members of the FIT academic community. Peer tutor candidates should be interested in learning about the peer-tutoring model, collaboration, writing for both academic and non-academic purposes, and technology and other business related issues that will contribute to the success of the day-to-day operations of the Writing Studio. Participation in ongoing staff education and meetings is required. Opportunities for leadership, scholarship, and workplace experience are available.
