We want to ensure that our Senior Learners have an engaged and positive experience in the courses they audit. It is important to remember that auditing a class is different than taking a class as an enrolled student. Auditors are encouraged to attend class and keep up with readings. No
examinations or papers are required, no grade is assigned, and no credit
is granted for course completion. Auditors are silent participants in class and may join in discussions and projects only at the discretion of the instructor. Unfortunately, college resources prohibit repeating a course you have previously audited.
Because certain courses from the School of Art and Design are in high demand by our degree-seeking students, they will not be available for senior enrollment. However, there will always be a selection of other art and design courses from which senior learners may choose (always subject to seat availability.)
Those who did not take a course in Fall 2014 are required to submit the Data Form as a part of the registration process. Visit us during an information session to do so, and to discuss course selection and have any questions answered.
Spring Semester registration will take place on Friday, January 30, 2015 only, in-person,
from 9am-1pm in the John E. Reeves Great Hall (entrance located just west of 7th Avenue on 28th Street). Please see the Registration Overview page for details on information sessions, and how to register for spring.
If you have a question about Senior Learners at FIT, please telephone 212-217-3334 and choose Option 2 to speak with a member of the staff.
