3D GLASSES BECOME FITíS NEWEST FASHION STATEMENT
Graduating Students Runway Show To Be Presented In 3D
Monday, April 26, at FIT
The Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) is once again positioning itself as the nexus between creativity and technology by presenting this yearís annual graduating students runway show in three formats: live, webcastóand in a fully immersive, stereoscopic 3D simulcast. This will be the first time that a New York runway show has been produced in 3D and the second time any runway show has been presented in 3D. (Burberry Prorsumís fall 2010 collection, shown in the U.K., was the first.)
The Future of Fashion will be viewed by a live audience on Monday, April 26, at 4:30 pm and again at 7:30 pm in FITís John E. Reeves Great Hall. An overflow crowd will experience a 3D stereo simulcast in FITís Haft Auditorium at 4:30 and 7:30 pm.
3D stereoscopic production is by UVPHACTORYís Dimitris Athos, 3D stereoscopic producer.
Members of the press are invited to attend the live show or experience the 3D stereo simulcast.
For those not able to be at FIT, the 7:30 pm show will be streamed live on the web at www.fitnyc.edu/futureoffashion.
The Future of Fashion is a professionally produced runway show with an array of fashion-forward garments, including sportswear, special occasion, knitwear, intimate apparel, menswear, and childrenís wear designed for fall 2010 by FITís graduating Fashion Design students. Leading design and media professionals attend to see the creative vision of FITís top fashion design talent.
Public admittance to the fashion show is by invitation only, and the 3D simulcast is open only to the FIT community. However, all are invited to see The Future of Fashion live on the web at www.fitnyc.edu/futureoffashion.
