Run your DARS degree audit
To prepare for registration, you must run and review your degree audit (DARS). A degree audit is a computer-based assessment that shows your degree progress and is available to you 24/7. Go to www.fitnyc.edu/DARS for full instructions.
If you have not been granted appropriate transfer credit or submitted SAT or ACT scores or taken the FIT placement tests by January 14 you cannot register for English, Math, or Science courses on January 15. You should register for courses that do not require placement like social science or history of art. You might be able to change your registration after your placement information is updated. February 1 is the last day to add/drop courses for spring 2013.
Check your transfer credits
To ensure that your transfer credits are applied to your FIT record, make sure that all final, official transcripts have been sent to Admissions, Feldman Center Room 139. To check your transfer credits, please see your degree audit (DARS). Any course(s) granted as transfer credit will be printed with a T grade on your degree audit in the appropriate place for the requirement. Go to www.fitnyc.edu/transfercredit for more information about what transfers to FIT.
Check for holds in MyFIT
In the Registration section, select “Check Your Registration Status”. Clear any holds placed on your records with the department that initiated the hold before your registration date.
