NEW/ENTERING RESIDENTS
With over 2,000 students in residence move-in becomes a challenge. FIT’s residence halls are located in the heart of New York City. The Department of Transportation limits street closings in NYC. The following schedule will apply:

NOTE: We are very excited to have you begin the new
academic year at FIT. To answer your questions and better assist our students and their
parents, a variety of college personnel will be available in the C-Bldg.
Lobby from 12:00 noon—4:00 pm on August 17th and 18th.
We suggest you and your parents visit them once you have completed the
check-in process.

**EVENING
CHECK-IN -
$25.00 EVENING CHECK-IN CHARGE - PAYABLE UPON ARRIVAL, 8:00 PM TO 11:30 PM ON
DESIGNATED CHECK IN DAYS.
WE PREFER NOT TO COLLECT THIS $25.00 CHARGE, AND URGE ALL RESIDENTS AND PARENTS
TO ARRIVE DURING SCHEDULED DAYS AND HOURS. Anyone arriving between 11:30
PM and 9:00 AM (including recess residents) will not have access to the
residence halls.
NO CHECK-IN PRIOR TO AUGUST 17TH. No exceptions! Any resident arriving
on these days will be directed to local hotels.
SHIPPING INFORMATION
Please
advise family and friends NOT to send cash or checks via mail. The
best way to send money is to have it deposited in your savings or checking
account.
ROOM AND ROOMATE INFORMATION
Students
can start viewing their initial room and roommate assignments starting July 15
on their MyHousing. This will be an
initial assignment and may change prior to check-in. For the most updated information check your
FIT email and MyHousing.
SHIPPING INFORMATION
Packages:
- may not arrive more than seven
days (7) before you arrive
- are limited to three (3) per
resident
- may not exceed 70 pounds each
- may not exceed 36" on any
side
CARRY
ALL ITEMS THAT YOU WILL NEED UPON ARRIVAL. Check in with items such as
bed linens, medication, etc. in an overnight bag or a suitcase.

Regular hours
are Monday – Friday, 9:00am—5:00pm. The mail room is closed on
Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays.
