Program of Study

All students attend morning English language core courses: reading, writing (grammar), speaking, and listening. Core courses meet Monday through Thursday from 9:00 am -1:00 pm. Two days focus on reading, writing and grammar skills; the other two days focuses on listening and speaking skills. Materials give students opportunities to use all of their language skills in authentic and engaging ways.

*Students choose either SXN 350: English for the Fashion Industry OR SXN 351 English for Artists and Designers.

Friday field trips take advantage of NYC cultural institutions, popular neighborhoods, and iconic fashion-related places and events, such as New York Fashion Week.

In addition, students can participate in the full schedule of FIT student activities offered throughout the semester. Students can also register for HOT TOPICS Professional Development noncredit workshops and training programs held in the evening and on weekends. (Tuition is required for each HOT TOPICS program and not included in the IEL fee.)
