Visa Information for Summer IELP Participants
This program is only available to students that have already been admitted to an FIT degree program for Fall 2013.
To request an I-20 to participate in this program, an admitted student must first enroll in the IELP program. Upon submission of the 2012 International Student Financial Statement, ISFS, as instructed below, an I-20 form will be issued to cover participation in the Summer IELP. The I-20 will allow you entry into the US within 30 days of the start of the IELP and cover the duration of your degree studies at FIT. Once that I-20 is used to enter the US, you must participate in the IELP; failure to do so will result in loss of F-1 status. Students who fail to maintain status become ineligible for benefits normally granted to international students by the US Immigration Service and are subject to penalties. Do not enter the US with this I-20 if you do not intend to participate in the IELP.
To receive this I-20 in time, the ISFS must be submitted to the Office of International Student Advisors by the due date (2013 date TBD). Students must show availability of funds for the cost for attending the IELP in addition to the one year estimate of expenses for degree studies on the ISFS. Students planning to participate in the IELP must show the following amounts in the ISFS:
- $40890 for the AAS degree
- $42550 for the Bachelor’s degree
- $44200 for the Master's degree
