Academic Success

Academic Advisement Center

FIT’s Academic Advisement Center is available to help students with all types of academic questions in order to make their academic experiences as smooth as possible. Academic Advisement is an ongoing partnership between the student and the advisor. Advisors assist students in addressing issues that relate to their academic progress at FIT. Students can meet with academic advisors to address specific issues as listed below but also to make sure they are staying on track. The Academic Advisors have extensive knowledge of FIT’s programs, policies and procedures, and academic deadlines. FIT recommends that students check in with the academic advisement center throughout the course of their time at the institution.

Students can email their assigned academic advisor by clicking on their name on the Academic Advisement Center staff page, and are also strongly encouraged to schedule their appointments online

Academic Skills Tutoring Center

Students entering FIT will be faced with adjusting to taking a wide range of academic courses. Sometimes certain courses can be more challenging than others. The Academic Skills Tutoring Center is a free service for all full-time and part-time students enrolled in credit-bearing and remedial courses for the current semester where students can receive help in these courses. The Center offers a variety of tutoring options covering many disciplines.

The Academic Skills Center offers the following:

  • Individual and group tutoring
  • Walk-in services
  • Workshops

During the fall and spring semesters students may sign up for an individual tutor beginning the third week of that semester.
