In this program, you’ll discover your personal creative voice and join a close-knit community of students and faculty who help you develop as an artist, inside the classroom and beyond.

You’ll gain proficiency in a range of disciplines — painting, drawing, printmaking, and sculpture — and explore 3D design and multimedia. You will graduate with the skills to pursue a career in the applied arts or as a practicing artist.

Fine Arts BFA

The BFA builds on your skills and pushes you to explore a range of creative possibilities, from traditional media to 3D design and multimedia. You will be challenged to develop conceptually mature work that expresses an individual, identifiable voice. And you’ll have the resources to do so in our first-class studios and print shop. In the final semester, you will participate in a required internship in an art-related setting and complete a senior thesis project in sculpture or painting.

If you have an AAS in Fine Arts from FIT, you may apply. More about eligibility for this program.

Impact

Make a difference. Make art … Art looks inward and outward to reveal both the artist and the world, all of which you can use to motivate and encourage others.

Outside the Classroom

Students have interned at the Museum of Modern Art, Hispanic Society of America, National Academy Museum, and facilities such as professional printmaking studios and art restoration companies. You’ll graduate with the skills to pursue a career in the applied arts or as a practicing artist. Some graduates work in art-related professions in museums, galleries, and arts organizations, while others go on to graduate study for studio practice, art therapy, or art education.
