You are always welcome to schedule an appointment with Brian Fallon to discuss T&P and other opportunities for leadership and advancement.
Tenure, Promotion, and CCE
Both Full- and Part-Time faculty have opportunities for tenured or continuous employment and to apply for a promotion in rank. These processes are outlined in the Collective Bargaining Agreement, the Faculty Handbook, and in documents available through the Office of Faculty Services. The Office of Faculty Development can offer you guidance and support through the tenure and promotion process. We provide a brief introduction to these process with some helpful advice, tools, and resources for both full- and part-time faculty:
Sabbaticals and Release Time for Research
Half and full-year sabbaticals are available for both classroom and nonclassroom faculty. Release time for research is available for classroom faculty.
Leadership Opportunities
Leadership and service are key components in T&P success. Faculty Senate offers opportunities for faculty to run for committees and lead in shared governance processes.
» Faculty Senate Get involved in faculty by attending meetings on the third Thursday of the month during the semester and running for committees. Add your voice to the conversation and support processes that ensure academic excellence by serving on a Faculty Senate committee.
» Chairs Handbook Learn more about the responsibilities of department chairship.
Opportunities to serve your department or school on committees that include T&P, curriculum, assessment, accreditation and strategic planning also exist. Talk to your chair or dean about opportunities to serve on special committees.
Nominate yourself to serve on committees:
» Diversity Collective To express interest in joining, reach out to one of the Chairs in your area.
» Faculty Development Grants and Awards Committee You can run for this committee during the Faculty Senate elections.
