How to Access Brightspace
You can access Brightspace with your FIT username and password at brightspace.fitnyc.edu.
As long as your department has assigned you as the instructor of your course in Banner, your course will appear in Brightspace. Look for your courses under “My Courses” after you log in.

How to Get Help
Brightspace Support:
The SUNY Online Helpdesk is available 7 days per week to answer any questions related to Brightspace. This
should be your first stop for all Brightspace-related assistance, as the helpdesk
is the most knowledgeable about the latest issues and updates to Brightspace.
Create a support request or call 1-844-673-6786 during the following hours:
Monday-Friday 7 am-12 am Midnight EST
Saturday 10 am-8 pm EST
Sunday 10 am-9 pm EST
Margaret Bishop is an experienced Online Instructor and works part time for the Office of Online Learning. She is available for appointments on the topics of Online/Remote/Blended Teaching Pedagogy, Brightspace Advanced Questions, and how to use related tools (ScreenPal, Voicethread, Padlet, Qwickly). Please email Margaret Bishop at [email protected] to schedule an appointment. We ask that instructors limit meetings with Margaret to no more than 2 hours per month.
Pamela Snyder, Adjunct Assistant Professor in Fashion Design, is available for basic Brightspace support on Thursdays. Make an appointment with Pamela through Calendly.

Help with Other Issues
Username and Password Problems: If you are having trouble with your user name and password and are unable to log in to Brightspace, visit FIT’s Password Help Center, call 212-217-4357, or submit a help request.
FIT Concourse Digital Syllabus (also known as Syllabus Connect): This is a campus-wide, syllabus template that includes key FIT resources. You can build and/or edit your course syllabus with the Concourse Syllabus template. Please visit the CET website for more information.
Help Recording Audio and Video for Your Course Lectures: If you would like help with cameras, microphones, and lighting setup to record your lectures, please contact FIT’s IT department at 212-217-4357 or submit a help request .
Help with Google Meet and Webex: If you are using Google Meet or Webex for your live lectures and need support, please contact FIT’s IT department at 212-217-4357 or submit a help request.

FAQ
Brightspace automatically creates course shells once your name has been entered in Banner for a particular course (it can take up to 24 hours to update). If you do not see your course listed on your home page, please contact your department secretary to have your name entered in Banner.
For technical problems with Brightspace, students may contact the SUNY Online Support Services Help Desk at 1-844-673-6786 or [email protected]. Note that there is a Student Orientation to Brightspace on every student's (and instructor's) Brightspace home page.
For user name and password problems, students must contact FIT's TechHelp.
For general assistance using Brightspace, they may contact the Academic Skills Tutoring Center.
If students are having problems with registration (e.g., if they were dropped from the course for non-payment), they should contact:
