Biography
Michelle Courtois is a a textile professional with a passion for design, technology, and color. Her broad range of experience includes working with apparel and home products manufacturers, independent designers, start ups, decorators, and stationary companies. She has successfully developed an extensive number of products, including apparel, fashion accessories, bedding, towels, tabletop, stationary, tech accessories, handbags, window treatments, and footwear.
Courtois' extensive industry experience allows her to see the big picture and quickly present creative solutions for design and production issues. Understanding mill limitations, combined with her ability to communicate with international partners and her design sense, means she is able to solve every problem that comes her way. Creating and developing a cohesive brand identity with a visual narrative of color, graphics, surface pattern design and product styling is the aspect that she enjoys most.
Courtois believes it's important to lead by example and to inspire other designers and creative professionals to grow in their fields. Sher says teaching affords her the opportunity to give back and nurture new ideas—and also enables her to stay current with new resources and technology.
