Beyond Graduation
When jewelry companies want to hire, they look to FIT grads first.
While some students start their own jewelry lines right after graduation, and market them online, others go to work for leading fine and fashion jewelry companies. FIT graduates are in demand as designers and jewelers and in manufacturing and merchandising positions at such companies as:
- Harry Winston
- Tiffany & Co.
- Cartier
- David Yurman
- Judith Ripka
- Swarovski
- Stuller
- Swatch
- Miriam Haskell
The expanding global market has created a growing need for entrepreneurs, management, sales executives, and appraisers who understand design as well as the production, marketing, and promotion of jewelry.
Rock Star–Worthy Jewelry Design
After having a career with Goldman Sachs for 10 years, Melissa Kaye was inspired to take a break from the finance industry, which led to her experience in FIT’s two-year Jewelry Design program. She is now a successful jewelry designer and has celebrity fans such as Gwen Stefani, Jennifer Lopez, and Rhianna.
