Courses

Instructors have the authority to determine whether students possess the appropriate level of foreign language proficiency for enrollment in any of our courses.

  • You are required to enroll in the most advanced language course for which you qualify, based on either prior study or placement results.
  • Native speakers of a language are not permitted to take courses for credit in that language.
  • You should not register for courses below you level of proficiency, as determined by instructors or through a placement examination.

For assistance in selecting the appropriate course level, please reach out to the Modern Languages and Cultures department.

–Mark Twain
