Start a New Club or Organization
Starting a New Club or Organization
FIT students who wish to create a new club or organization are encouraged to do so
by the Department of Student Life. Proposed student clubs or organizations may not
replicate the mission of currently functioning FIT Clubs or Organizations. If the
proposed club is not unique, students will be asked to join the existing club or organization.
New Club or Organization applications will be accepted and towards the end of the
academic year. Once available, New Club or Organization application reminders can
be found in the “This Week @ FIT” newsletters that are emailed out on Sunday evenings.
If you have questions about starting a new club or organization, [email protected] can answer any questions.
Non-Discrimination Policy
Eligibility for members of FIT club or organization is restricted to current degree-seeking students. Individual clubs or organizations may have additional requirements for membership; however, FIT clubs and organizations must adhere to FIT's non-discrimination policy:
FIT is committed to prohibiting discrimination in its programs, activities, and employment, whether based on race, color, national origin, sex, gender, gender identity, religion, ethnic background, age, disability, marital status, sexual orientation, military service status, genetic information, pregnancy, familial status, citizenship status (except as required to comply with law), or any other criterion prohibited by law. Inquiries regarding the non-discrimination policy may be directed to the Affirmative Action Officer/Title IX Coordinator, (212) 217-3360, [email protected].
