Qualifications

  • Maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA and be in good disciplinary standing with the College
  • Be an international student, have studied abroad in college, or possess significant experience living or working abroad
  • Demonstrate a desire to learn about FIT—its people, programs, and community
  • Enjoy speaking and sharing experiences with others
  • Be open to speaking in front of groups and working with faculty
  • Be available for Cultural Fellows training and events
  • Commit to program participation through May 2025

Job Description

Cultural Fellows have the opportunity to select work assignments that fit their schedules; however, they should expect to participate in the following:              

  • Cultural Fellows Training (mandatory) in April
  • Tiger Leader & Cultural Fellows Training (mandatory) in August
  • Fall International & Exchange Student Orientations (mandatory) in August
  • Spring International & Exchange Student Orientations (mandatory) in January
  • Fall and Spring International Student Services & Office of International Programs Events
  • Language Exchanges
  • Assist in social media and prearrival mentor/mentee outreach for international & exchange students
  • Engage with faculty for Cultural Fellows in the Classroom activities
  • Help recruit other Cultural Fellows
  • Other related activities to be determined

Cultural Fellows must attend mandatory training in April and August, and will meet regularly throughout the fall and spring semesters for regular updates, additional training, and scheduling of assignments. 

Selection Process

After submitting the CF application, applicants will be contacted to sign up for an interview, to be scheduled in March. Students selected to be Cultural Fellows will be notified by email.
