Campus Anti-Violence Education Group

Mission Statement

The Campus Anti-Violence Education Group (CAEG) strives to build awareness and educate the FIT campus community on issues that involve sexual and interpersonal violence prevention. To that end, the group will serve as a resource network committed to educational outreach and programming, consultation, and support. We believe that continuous open and inclusive dialogue, ongoing education, and a commitment to building a safe campus are the key elements needed to develop a healthy campus environment.

The Campus Anti-violence Education Group is a working group of the FIT Security Advisory Committee; the group meets bi-weekly and conducts a series of educational programmatic initiatives that seek to meet the needs of the campus community.

Goals

  1. Education (workshops and campus programs—for example, Sexual Assault Awareness Education, the Clothesline Project, Domestic Violence Awareness Month, Pledge Purple, Women’s History Month programs, etc.)
  2. Empowering Action (Bystander Intervention, peer leaders/educators)
  3. Outreach (messaging, webpages, blogging, and social media)
