Location

Room E605 is located on the 6th floor of the Goodman Center, inside the FIT Library. To access the 6th floor use the inner stairwell on the 5th floor from the Library Lobby.

Hours

During the Fall and Spring semesters, the Reserved Study Room will be available:

  • Monday–Thursday: 9 am–7 pm
  • Friday: 9 am–6 pm
  • Saturday: CLOSED
  • Sunday: 12pm (noon)–7 pm

During winter and summer sessions, the reserved study room is available Monday–Thursday, 9:00 am–6 pm.

Hours may change to accommodate library events/meetings and college closures. 

General Policies

  • The library accepts reservations for students seeking a group study room (up to 7 seats) or a reserved room for individual work, such as an interview or phone call.
  • Room reservation check-in and check-out is done at the Library Services Desk on the 5th floor.
  • The room is a meeting space intended for verbal study only.
    • E605 is not a project workspace for activities such as crafting, cutting, or painting. The use of markers and/or spray fixatives is strictly prohibited.
    • Voices should be kept at a conversational level. If noise disrupts others in the library, staff will intervene to ensure policy compliance. Noncompliance will result in the cancellation of the room reservation.
    • Repeated infractions will result in being banned from using this room. 
  • The Reserved Library Room will be monitored by library staff and Public Safety personnel.
  • Wi-fi is available, students may bring their laptops
  • Beverages in closed containers are permitted; food is prohibited.
  • Trash should be removed, and the room left tidy at the end of the scheduled reservation.
  • Personal materials should never be left unattended. The library is not responsible for personal items left in the room.
  • Any library materials left behind will be returned to the stacks. 
  • A $25 replacement fee will be charged to the reservation holder if the key to the Reserved Library Room is lost.

Reservations 

  • Use our Book IT page to reserve a timeslot
  • The Reserved Library Room is available to current FIT students with valid FIT IDs.
  • Reservations are required and can be made up to 14 days in advance. Same-day reservations are also permitted and are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
  • You will receive a confirmation email from Book-It, please retain this email. 
  • Students should arrive within 5 minutes of their reserved time to avoid losing their reservation. Please stop by the Library Services Desk to check out the key to the room and "check in" via the Book-IT system, as instructed in your confirmation email.
  • The Reserved Study Room can be booked by the half hour for a maximum of 2 hours per day.
