Biography
Amy Sperber is an assistant professor at FIT and a multidisciplinary fashion designer, consultant, and educator. She recently launched an open-source fashion avatar database for designers to use in 3D development tools. The project, sponsored by NYSCA, is available to use at FashionAvatars.org.

PPE for Diverse Bodies: SUNY Prepare Program Seed Grant S2021 - PPE that serves diverse populations and was a multi-department collaboration with Karen Pearson, Ajoy Sarkar, and Peter Wai Chan.
Cancer Detection Garment: Hearst Grant S2020 - A garment for monitoring cancer treatment, this project collaborates with professor Theanne Schiros, Columbia University, and NYU.
Plus Size Dress Form: CFDA + Dia&Co Inclusive by Design {Education} Fund S2020 - Collaboration with department colleagues Tetsuo Tamanaha and Nicole Benefield to develop a dress form that captures mass distribution more naturally for pulse-size customers.
Open Source Fashion Avatars Fashion Avatars.Org: NYSCA F2019 - The development of an avatar database for use in 3D design programs.
