Classroom Technology Planning for Spring 2022
The Division of Information Technology has been performing ongoing technology-related contingency planning for spring 2022 with Academic Affairs, the deans, EMSS, and the Registrar to support as much choice as possible to accommodate the widest range of fall classroom needs.
IT has created three comprehensive guides to assist the FIT community with the spring 2022 semester. Each guide is tailored to a specific audience and its service needs:
Employee Training
Training for faculty and staff are available. For the latest training offerings, visit it.fitnyc.edu/employee-training.
Reserving Lab and Studio Space on Campus with FIT Book It
Students can use FIT Book It, the college's reservation service, to check availability and book spaces that are managed to assure health and safety. More details and instructions on FIT Book It are available here.
Specialty On-Campus Printing Services
The hours for PrintFX and FabLab, which provide 2D and 3D printing services, are Monday–Friday, 9:30 am–6:30 pm.
PrintFX and FabLab continues to provide an online digital service desk to answer questions related to creating and printing/fabricating 2D or 3D work, including assistance with correct file types for 3D printers, DPI for Illustrator files, and formatting for laser cutting. In-person, after hours, and shipping delivery options are available for services.
TechHelp for Campus or Remote Support
TechHelp is the FIT community's first source for IT support whether studying or working remotely or using equipment on campus. Submit a ticket at TechHelp.fitnyc.edu or call (212) 217-HELP and an IT team member will address the problem as quickly as possible.
