Middle States Periodic Review
FIT prepared for Middle States' activity, the Periodic Review Report, due on June 1, 2017. The report included a six-section document, with an additional companion document certifying compliance with relevant federal recommendations.
- An executive summary
- Response to recommendations resulting from the last evaluation
- Report on significant major developments, changes or challenges subsequent to the last evaluation
- Review enrollment trends and enrollment and financial projections
- Determine how well FIT is assessing institutional effectiveness and the assessment of student learning outcomes (accreditation standards 7 and 14)
- Identify how we link institutional planning and budgeting
Steering Committee
A steering committee made up of faculty, staff, administrators and students were charged with reviewing and guiding the development of each section.

Once all sections were reviewed, a town hall meeting was called to review the draft of the report. Here further feedback was collected from the FIT community, and incorporated into the final report in advance of a Spring 2017 review by Dr. Brown and the Board of Trustees. With approval of the final report, Dr. Brown signed a re-affirmation statement of our Middle States accreditation, and the report submitted to Middle States, along with the compliance report and re-accreditation statement.
