Reserves
The FIT Library provides course reserves in support of the instructional requirements of specific classes at the Fashion Institute of Technology. This material has a shorter circulation period and may be restricted to use in the Library.
Reserve items are located behind the Library Services Desk on the 5th floor of the Library. Items on reserve include:
- Library-owned materials (books, DVDs, etc.)
- Instructors' personal copies of materials
FIT Faculty wishing to request items for purchase should first read the Library's Text Book Purchasing Policy (.pdf) and contact Acquisitions and Metadata Services with any questions.
To find reserves material use OneSearch, Library Catalog and use "Course Reserves" as a search filter. Search by title, author, instructors name or course number.
Because of the heavy demand for these materials there is a limit on the number of items that can be checked out at one time (3), the loan period is short (2 hours), first come first serve, fines for late returns are high ($1 per hour, $10 overnight) and will not be waived.
