HJD 019 Jewelry Design Studio I
Work with enameling and metals, and learn to use a variety of jewelry-making tools
in this intense studio class. Learn what the industry is really about as you create
three-dimensional jewelry and develop your personal style. Gallery
HJD 032 Jewelry Design Studio II
Prerequisite: HJD 019
This course is an extension of the basic jewelry studio skill sets introduced in course
HJD 019. In addition to expanding basic studio skills, you will learn wax carving,
chasing and repousse, and basic silversmithing. This course is a must for students
interested in a career in jewelry design! Gallery
HJD 033 Jewelry Design and Model Making with CAD
Create your own jewelry designs using 2D and 3D CAD software, just as professional
designers do. Learn fundamental skills including sketching, precision drawing, layering,
rendering, and 3D-modeling, and discover resources that will "print" your 3D designs
for you. You will fully develop an acrylic laser-cut brooch, fabricated in our campus
lab, and a finished CAD model of a pendant ready for printing and casting into metal.

Jewelry Design: Fabrication
In this studio course, you will learn the basics of making metal jewelry. Utilizing
our industry standard lab tools, you will learn soldering, metal texturing, and finishing
to create unique rings, pendants, and earrings. (You can skip this summer class if you've already taken HJD 019)
